The fatigue aging of rubber rollers refers to the gradual deterioration of their physical and mechanical properties under alternating stress or strain, resulting in a loss of usability. This leads to ozone aging. Let's take a look at the manifestations that belong to the aging phenomenon.

The aging phenomena of rubber rollers are as follows:

(1) When stretched rubber rollers undergo ozone aging, the surface will develop ozone cracking. There is a critical stress for ozone cracking in rubber rollers; when the elongation of the rubber or the stress applied is below the critical value, ozone aging will not cause cracking.

(2) Ozone aging of rubber rollers is a surface reaction, with the reaction depth of unstressed rubber surfaces being 10 to 40 molecular layers thick.

(3) When rubber rollers develop ozone cracking, the direction of the cracks is perpendicular to the direction of the applied force. This is the difference between ozone cracking and light-oxygen aging cracking.
